Why you shouldn’t install an indoor TV anywhere outside (even on your porch)
“I’ll just bring it in during the wet season” or “Those outdoor TV’s are too expensive! I”ll put a cheap one out there and replace it if it gets damaged” These are two of the many excuses we’ve heard for not installing a proper outdoor TV solution. I’d like to list 6-Reasons why you should seriously consider utilizing a TV solution purposed for use in the great outdoors.
Open the first page of any TV manual, and you’ll see a section warning you about the dangers of putting an indoor TV outside. Besides the risk of electrocution, one small short, and your cheap TV can cause some pretty expensive damage.
If you think that indoor TV is safe under your patio, think again. Humidity, dust, and sunlight can all compromise the inner workings of your device. Not to mention the critters that are sure to find a home in the warm, dark interior of your TV; and you plan on bringing that back into the house?
No one wants to watch a picture with obtrusive glare or black spots, but that’s what you’ll be faced with when your TV isn’t equipped for the outdoors. Outdoor TV’s have a bright backlight and processing coupled with the brighter backlight to make sure that you get a bright, visible picture, without “washing out” the colors.
- Warranty Issues
It’s simple: If you install an indoor TV outside, you’re voiding the warranty. So if your picture goes out on the very first day, you’re out of luck (and some serious cash).
- Compromised Devices
A TV shock or short due to moisture can cause damage to other connected devices, which means more equipment you may have to replace. This could include your cable or satellite box, or even more expensive equipment if you have a more sophisticated video distribution system!
Don’t bother rolling out and setting up a TV every time you want to be outside. With SunBriteTVs, they’re installed once, and last for years. Think about how tedious it can be to set your system up right before the big game and how frustrating it is when it doesn’t work right away! Wouldn’t you rather spend the first two hours of your party, partying?
If you think you can save money by installing an indoor TV outside, think again. Just look at the many reasons why a SunBriteTV from Audiotronics is the only choice for outdoor video. Now, with three series of solutions to fit your budget and your environment, there’s no excuse for installing an indoor TV, outside.
